IEC helps printer put less money down the drain.

IEC has helped Pensord Press, an award-winning printing company in South Wales, to secure a £400 rebate and an ongoing annual saving of £600 a year in surface water drainage charges.

The team used detailed area maps to prove to the local water company that the surface water at Pensord Press’ Blackwood site drained into a local river and not into the water treatment system.

IEC’s MD Mike Jones said: “If you can prove that the surface water at site goes into a local river you can claim a rebate of up to 21% on surface water drainage charges.  For a company like Pensord Press, which uses a lot of water in its processes, this is a saving worth making.”

Richard Norton, Finance Director at Pensord Press which won the 2011 Wales Quality Award for Manufacturing,  said:  “This is going to be an ongoing saving to our business which, without IEC’s involvement, we wouldn’t have been aware we could make.”

Pensord Press won the 2011 Wales Quality Award for Manufacturing and prints some 380 magazine and periodical titles from its 50,000 sq ft factory.
